History
Four university graduates founded Creality in Shenzhen in 2014 after meeting at a 3D printing trade fair. The company became known with the CR-10 (2016) and the Ender 3 (2018), followed later by the fast CoreXY printers of the K1 series (2023) and K2 series and the laser brand Falcon; in consumer lasers, Creality was number three in 2024 according to its stock exchange prospectus. According to its own figures, Creality shipped 4.4 million 3D printers from 2020 to 2024, and in 2023 it was overtaken by Bambu Lab in unit numbers. On 29 May 2026 Creality listed on the Hong Kong stock exchange and raised around 177 million US dollars. In 2025, revenue was 3.13 billion CNY, about 74 percent of it abroad; on an adjusted basis Creality made a profit of 92.4 million CNY, but under accounting standards a loss of 182.4 million CNY.
Customer support and warranty
According to the German shop (as of October 2026), complete devices carry a manufacturer's warranty of 12 months and wear parts 3 to 6 months; the statutory warranty in the EU remains unaffected. Contact is by email (cs@creality.com, store.de@creality.com for the German shop), through a support portal and the community forum; no German phone number is given, and returns to China must be avoided because Creality does not cover duties there. On Trustpilot, creality.com has 2.6 out of 5 points from 694 reviews (as of October 2026), 56 percent of them with one star; according to Trustpilot, Creality does not reply to negative reviews. Complaints concern slow or automated replies, repeated troubleshooting instead of replacement, and deductions from refunds.
Environment and commitment
In 2018 Creality published the hardware, CAD files, schematics and firmware of the Ender 3; according to All3DP it was the first 3D printer from China certified by the Open Source Hardware Association. In 2023, after criticism, Creality announced it would release the source code of the K1 firmware.
Criticism and problems
According to Wikipedia, Creality has repeatedly violated the GPL licence of Marlin and other open-source software since 2018; in 2023 it shipped the K1 with a customised Klipper firmware that was initially not disclosed, and only released the code after public pressure. In 2025, criticism arose again in the Klipper forum that modules of the K2 Plus are shipped only as compiled files without source code. In 2022, the scanner manufacturer Artec sued Creality in New York over allegedly copied software code. After its market launch there were many complaints about quality problems with the K1, which the successor K1C was meant to resolve.
