How we work
Nadin and Marcus are behind this wiki. Every page involves a lot of research, hands-on testing and writing. To make that sustainable, we earn a little from some links. It costs you nothing extra, and it does not change what we write.
Facts and our own experience
- Technical data comes from manufacturer and retailer information. Below every data sheet you will find the source and the date.
- Our own experience is marked as such. If we have used a device ourselves, its page says “Tested ourselves” with a sentence on how and for what.
- Strengths and weaknesses are our assessment based on the data and our experience. We also write down what we do not like about a device.
No hidden buying recommendations
A data sheet, a comparison or a link is not a recommendation. It is meant to help you decide for yourself. When we recommend something, we say so explicitly as “Our recommendation” and explain why.
How we earn money
- Affiliate links: Some links to shops are marked with *. If you buy through them, we receive a small commission from the shop. Your price stays the same.
- Discount codes: Some shops offer a discount code from us. We mention it right next to the link. We can also receive a commission via the code.
- Independent: Manufacturers cannot buy ratings, placements or recommendations from us. We also use affiliate links for devices we view critically. Whether a link earns money does not decide what we write.
- Advertising: Ad spaces may be added later. They will always be clearly marked as advertisements and kept separate from the content.
Why we still label the links as advertising
Even though our content is independent, affiliate links legally count as advertising because we can earn from them. That is why we label them openly. So you always know where you stand.
