Device finder · AI assistant
Which device suits your project?
Describe what you want to do: for your hobby, your shop or a new product idea. The device finder asks for whatever it needs to know and shows you suitable lasers, UV printers, 3D printers, resin printers, 3D scanners or makerspace devices, with reasons. If one device is clearly the best fit, it tells you so and explains why.
- 188 devices from the wiki's data sheets
- Hands-on experience from Nadin's own tests
- No paid placements

Hello! Tell me briefly what you want to do: What do you want to make or personalise, from which material, and for whom? I will then ask about anything I am still missing.

What a conversation can look like (examples, shortened)
I sell hand-poured candles and want to engrave my logo on the jars. Clear, straight jars, about 40 per week, budget up to €2,000, I work in my flat.
A CO₂ laser engraves clear glass directly, in matt white and without pre-treatment. A diode laser would first need marking spray or a dark coating, which is a lot of extra work at 40 glasses a week.
The Monport Reno45 Pro fits best because it stays within budget and engraves glass directly. For round glasses you need the optional rotary axis. Please note: despite its enclosure, it is laser class 4, so you need suitable safety glasses. …
I sell soaps at markets and am thinking about what else I could offer.
Good question, there are several ways. So that I can name suitable devices:
- Do you want your products to look better (packaging, labels, stamps) or do you want to offer new products?
- How much space do you have, and can you vent exhaust air outdoors?
- What price range do you have in mind?
How the device finder works
- Describe: Describe in your own words what you want to make or personalise.
- Answering follow-up questions: Material, size, quantity, budget and space decide which device fits.
- Compare devices: You get suitable devices with reasoning, limits, required accessories and a link to the data sheet.
Why you can trust the answers
- Data from the wiki: The device finder only names devices from our data sheets and checks whether the laser type suits your material at all.
- Experience from the workshop: Nadin uses UV printers, lasers, 3D printers and a heat press herself. Her experience from the tests feeds into the answers and is marked as such.
- Independent of commissions: The device finder does not know where affiliate links exist. Manufacturers cannot buy anything.
- Honest about limits: If a device only fits with preparation or accessories, it tells you so. If a type of device that is not in the wiki fits better, it says that too.
Would you rather compare yourself? Then take a look at the Laser comparison, the UV printer comparison or the 3D printer comparison, or read Which laser suits me?
Frequently asked questions
What does the device finder cost?
Nothing. You do not need an account and do not have to sign in.
Which devices does the device finder know?
All available devices in the Maker-Wiki: 74 lasers, 9 UV printers, 51 3D printers, 13 resin printers, 24 3D scanners and 17 makerspace devices (heat presses, plotters, sublimation and DTF printers), each with the data from our data sheets. In addition there are the wiki's articles and Nadin's own experience from her tests.
Can the device finder be wrong?
Yes. It is an AI assistant and can make mistakes. That is why it always gives you the link to the data sheet. Check important details there or with the manufacturer before you buy.
Does the device finder prefer certain brands?
No. Manufacturers cannot influence the results, and the device finder does not know which shops pay a commission. The page only appends the shop links once the answer is finished.
What happens to my messages?
They are sent to Anthropic, the provider of the Claude AI model, to be answered. We do not store your chat and cannot read it. As soon as you close or reload the page, it is gone, unless you switch on “Remember conversations on this device”. Your last ten conversations then stay stored only in your browser, and you can find them under “Earlier conversations”. Switching it off deletes them. Please still do not enter personal data such as names or addresses.
Who is behind the device finder?
Nadin from NadinMacht. She tests lasers, UV printers and 3D printers in real projects on YouTube and runs this wiki. The device finder uses exactly this knowledge.
How is the device finder funded?
About affiliate links: if you buy through a link with *, Nadin receives a small commission. Your price stays the same. This covers the costs of the AI.
