Elegoo: all devices

Elegoo is a manufacturer from Shenzhen that began with electronics learning kits and today mainly sells low-cost resin printers (Mars, Saturn, Jupiter) and FDM printers (Neptune, Centauri Carbon). The brand stands for low prices and wide availability, with an EU warehouse and its own DE shop. Most recently there was criticism of how it handles the Klipper open-source licence.

History

Elegoo was founded in Shenzhen in 2015 and initially sold Arduino-compatible STEM electronics kits, which according to co-founder Kevin Wang made it the largest seller of such kits on Amazon in 2018. This was followed by the resin printers of the Mars and Saturn series (first Saturn in 2020), the FDM Neptune series from 2022 and the large-format printer OrangeStorm Giga in 2023, which raised US$3.5 million on Kickstarter. In February 2025 the enclosed CoreXY printer Centauri Carbon arrived, later followed by the Centauri Carbon 2 with a multicolour system. According to company figures from November 2025, Elegoo has more than 1,000 employees and almost 30,000 m² of office and production space in Shenzhen, and generated revenue of over US$220 million in 2024. The company is privately owned.

Customer support and warranty

Support runs through a ticket system on the website and a support chat; no general support email address or telephone number is given. There is a German-language shop and an EU warehouse, from which orders to Germany are delivered in 2 to 5 working days according to the manufacturer. The manufacturer's warranty is 12 months on new devices and 6 months on the extruder and printhead; for FDM printers, build plates, nozzles, hotend, heating element and thermistor count as wear parts without warranty, and the statutory warranty in the EU remains unaffected. On Trustpilot, elegoo.com has 4.3 out of 5 from 8,207 reviews (as of October 2026); price and shipping are praised, while faulty devices shortly after purchase, poor packaging and difficult refunds are criticised.

Environment and commitment

Elegoo offers an education discount and STEM learning kits and in 2025 set up a Creator Fund of 1 million US dollars for the model platform Nexprint.

Criticism and problems

In 2025, community members (the OpenCentauri project) showed that the Centauri Carbon firmware is based on a heavily modified version of Klipper, which is licensed under GPL-3.0; Elegoo had previously denied this and, according to All3DP, did not answer requests for the source code. In September 2025 Elegoo published the source code on GitHub and added the licence information in November 2025, without correcting its earlier statements. We are not aware of any recalls or official safety warnings (as of 10/2026).
