Differences from the predecessor Bambu Lab X1 Carbon
- Two nozzles with mechanical switching instead of one nozzle, e.g. for separate support material
- Active chamber heating up to 65 °C (X1 Carbon without active chamber heating)
- Higher maximum speed: 1,000 instead of 500 mm/s; build volume of the main nozzle 256 × 256 × 260 mm
- Additional toolhead camera (1600 × 1200) alongside the live camera (1080p); PMSM servo extruder
- Bambu describes the X2D as the second generation of the X series; the X1 series was discontinued in March 2026
