History
According to its own account, Revopoint goes back to a research team that began developing 3D technology in 2014; the first scanners and angel funding came in 2015, followed in 2017 by ISO 9001 certification and an R&D lab in Shenzhen. Revopoint 3D Technologies Inc. was founded in 2019 to bring the technology to the USA and other markets; sales today run through Revopoint International Limited in Hong Kong. The POP handheld scanners arrived from 2021, in 2022 the POP 2 and MINI together with Series C funding and subsidiaries in the USA and Japan, and in 2023 the RANGE, POP 3, INSPIRE and MIRACO. MIRACO raised nearly 3 million US dollars from 2,923 backers on Kickstarter and won a Red Dot Award in 2024. Since 2024 Revopoint has also been building metrology equipment for industry with MetroX, MetroY and Trackit, and the POP 4 followed in 2026. According to the manufacturer, over 300 people work for the company, which cites over 140 patents and 200,000 users; CB Insights lists the company under the name Chishine 3D with an address in Xi'an.
Customer support and warranty
According to the manufacturer, support is provided by email at customer@revopoint3d.com, through a toll-free US number (call or SMS) and a Chinese phone number, plus an active user forum in which support takes part. The manufacturer's site has a country selector; for Germany there is the shop global.revopoint3d.com/de-de with euro prices, which according to the shipping policy include VAT and import duty; Revopoint does not say whether there is German-language support or an EU warehouse. The manufacturer's warranty is two years on scanners and one year on accessories, but only applies to orders through revopoint3d.com (order number with "R"); with retailers, the seller is responsible, and the statutory warranty in the EU remains unaffected. In a warranty case Revopoint promises processing within one to two working days and free return shipping. On Trustpilot, revopoint3d.com has 3.1 out of 5 stars from only 7 reviews (as of October 2026); criticism concerns late delivery, shipping from China despite the statement "from Germany", and missing replies, and the company has not responded to negative reviews.

Criticism and problems
No major documented problems found. We are not aware of any recalls or official notices concerning Revopoint scanners (as of 10/2026). In the manufacturer's forum there are reports of failed devices, for example a POP 2 that would no longer start after continuous operation in 2022; support classed it as defective and offered a replacement. For Kickstarter purchases the normal right of return does not apply, and one user complained in 2022 that a refund was refused with reference to the completed project. The company structure is unclear (Shenzhen, Hong Kong, USA, Xi'an according to CB Insights), and the shop does not state an imprint.
