History
Anycubic was founded in Shenzhen in September 2015; co-founder Lu Ouyang had previously sold electronic modules and accessories for self-built 3D printers. The first own printer, the i3 Mega, followed in 2016, later came the resin printers of the Photon series and the FDM Kobra series, and in 2024 the multicolour Kobra 3 Combo and the enclosed Kobra S1. According to an industry analysis (CONTEXT, 2024), Anycubic, Creality, Bambu Lab and Elegoo together account for over 90 percent of entry-level 3D printers shipped worldwide. For its tenth anniversary in 2025, Anycubic cited almost 5 million users in over 200 countries; verified revenue or employee figures are not available.
Customer support and warranty
Anycubic offers contact through a customer service form, a wiki with guides and shop support; Anycubic does not state a German phone number or a service centre in Germany. For wear parts, the manufacturer states a warranty of 3 to 6 months (e.g. Kobra 3 V2 hotend: 3 months, Photon Mono M7 LCD exposure screen: 6 months); the EU shop gives no information on a general device warranty; the 2-year statutory warranty applies regardless. On Trustpilot, anycubic.com has 4.6 out of 5 points from 3,176 reviews (as of October 2026), and Anycubic replies to 57 percent of negative reviews. Praise goes to free replacement parts; criticism goes to lengthy troubleshooting, returns for inspection before a replacement and a lack of on-site repair options.
Environment and commitment
In 2020 Anycubic launched the education project "For Freedom to Make" in Shenzhen, which supports universities and research institutions with printers and advice and ran summer camps with the Yale School of Engineering in 2022.
Criticism and problems
In February 2024, unknown parties used a security flaw in Anycubic's MQTT cloud service to send a warning file to Kobra printers worldwide; the security researchers said they had previously emailed Anycubic three times without a response. Anycubic closed the flaw in March 2024 with a firmware update and advised concerned users to switch off Wi-Fi. We are not aware of any further recalls or lawsuits (as of 10/2026).
