Formlabs Form Studio 1: What is known so far

The Form Studio 1 is an MSLA resin printer from Formlabs positioned below the Form 4. It has been available to order since 14 October 2026 and costs from €760.41 on the German Formlabs site (€639 excl. 19 % VAT). Shipping is due to start on 6 November 2026.

Our take
Why it is interesting: Formlabs has so far mainly been present in the professional sector, with the Form 4 costing from €3,124. The Form Studio 1 costs about a quarter of that, has a similar build volume and, in open material mode, also allows resins from other manufacturers. This puts Formlabs in competition with the cheaper MSLA printers from Anycubic, Elegoo and Phrozen.
At 35 µm pixel size, the resolution is coarser than on 16K printers of a similar size, for example the Elegoo Saturn 4 Ultra 16K with 14 x 19 µm. Formlabs relies on anti-aliasing and tuned material settings to compensate. How this shows in the print can only be said after a test.
