Our take

Why it is interesting: Most multi-colour printers swap the filament over a long shared path and purge material at every change. On the SparkX i8, the four channels only end in the print head, so very little material should be lost at a change. According to Creality, no external purge waste is produced, but the printer only does without the prime tower on selected models.

The SparkX i8 is sold through crowdfunding. Backing a campaign is not a normal shop purchase, and delivery dates and features may still change. This also applies to an established manufacturer such as Creality.
