Sovol: all devices
Sovol is a smaller manufacturer from Shenzhen that builds inexpensive printers based on well-known open designs, such as the SV06 modelled on the Prusa i3 MK3S+ and the SV08 modelled on the Voron 2.4. The machines are open and easy to modify, while the software offering is rather sparse. Since 2025 there has been its own EU shop with an EU warehouse.

History
According to its own statement, Sovol was founded in 2018 and is headquartered in Shenzhen; according to 3DPros, the company first sold filament and spare parts before the first printer, the SV01, arrived in 2019. Among others, there followed the dual-extruder SV04, the SV02 and SV03 models, which were discontinued after quality and firmware problems, and the SV06, a clone of the Prusa i3 MK3S+. In 2024 Sovol released the SV08, a series-produced version of the open Voron 2.4 with standard Klipper. The EU shop sovol.eu launched in 2025, and the UK shop in December 2025. There are no published figures on headcount, revenue or owners.
Customer support and warranty
Support is by email (info@sovol3d.com) and via a Help Center; a technician tries to solve problems by email or remote assistance, and photos or videos should be sent along. The manufacturer's warranty is 1 year on printers, 3 months on the extruder and 1 month on accessories; build plates and nozzles are excluded, and according to Sovol the statutory warranty is unaffected. The EU shop is available in German and delivers from an EU warehouse to Germany in 3 to 7 working days, duty-free; German-language support is not explicitly stated. On Trustpilot, Sovol has 3.7 out of 5 from 99 reviews (as of October 2026), 33% of them with one star; praise goes to fast spare parts, criticism to slow communication, delivery times and refused help with Amazon purchases.
Environment and commitment
Sovol publishes design files for its printers on GitHub and uses standard Klipper on the SV08. Because the Voron team declined a collaboration, Sovol donates US$2 per SV08 sold to the Voron Design Team according to Tom's Hardware (over US$2,000 by May 2024).
Criticism and problems
Sovol's business model rests on clones of open designs (Prusa i3, Voron 2.4), which parts of the community view critically, even though the licences allow it. Regarding the SV08, reviewers in 2024 criticised thin software support with few slicer profiles, very cautious default settings and advertising that suggests a simpler first-layer calibration than the hardware delivers. According to 3DPros, the SV02 and SV03 models were discontinued after firmware and quality problems. We are not aware of any recalls or legal disputes (as of 10/2026).
