Enter the values from your slicer and your electricity contract. The slicer shows weight and print time after slicing. The article explains how the individual items come about: What does a 3D print cost?

Filament
Print time and electricity
Wear and failed prints
For selling or contract printing: device and working time
Filament
Electricity
Wear
Failed print surcharge
Total per print

Where the default values come from: Power according to manufacturer measurements from Bambu Lab and Prusa (average while printing, not the peak during heating up). Electricity price: average for households in Germany according to the BDEW electricity price analysis 2026. The wear allowance and the failed-print surcharge are assumptions, so it is best to enter your own values. It is most accurate with a plug-in power meter.
